Domenico Clerico Langhe Visadi Dolcetto 2006
Wine SpectatorA structured Dolcetto, with ripe plum and berries and a clean oak note. Medium- to full-bodied, firm and very clean on the palate, with a firm mineral finish. Needs some time. Best after 2007.
Wine AdvocateThe 2006 Langhe Dolcetto Visadi is a deeply-colored, full-bodied wine. It is an intense wine loaded with jam-packed fruit but the very ripe style has been achieved at the expense of some varietal character. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2009. Few producers' wines have given me as much pleasure over the years as those of Domenico Clerico. Based in Monforte, Clerico has been turning out spectacular Barolos since the mid-1980s. I find a spirituality and character in these wines that puts them in a class with few peers.
