Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1992
|Region||California, Napa Valley|
|Brand||Stag's Leap Wine Cellars|
Wine AdvocateThe 1992 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa exhibits a dark ruby/garnet color, a heady nose of herbs, spices, smoke, and curranty fruit, excellent richness, medium to full body, a supple texture, and a fine finish. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. It was almost as good as the 1992 Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap Vineyard. This winery enjoys a much deserved fine reputation for its bevy of complex, elegant, authoritatively flavorful red wines, particularly the Fay Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and the Cask 23 Proprietary Red Wine, the latter one of California's benchmark wines. The white wine program has been less impressive, although progress is evident with each new vintage.
Wine SpectatorA shade past its peak, with drying currant, fresh earth and firm tannins, it offers a modest array of complex flavors, accented by anise, herb and sage notes. Drink now.
