Hess Select Chardonnay 2016
We're on to something with our Hess Select Chardonnay. It's a new take on the most popular wine around, tasting good on its own, paired with appetizers, a variety of meals prepared at home or out for date night. Crisp and clean with bright wonderfully balanced acidity, the signature lemon-lime and a touch of apple flavors of Monterey shine through.

Catena Zapata Alta Cabernet Sauvignon 2010The Catena Cabernet Sauvignon shows a dark ruby color with violet tones. On the nose, it offers intense aromas of ripe blackberry, black cherry, and cassis with notes of pepper, clove, and a touch of cedar. On the palate, it is full-bodied and rich and displays layers of black currant and black raspberry with notes of cedar, tobacco and vanilla. This Cabernet Sauvignon is an elegant wine with silky tannins that provide structure and a long and persistent finish.
Bedrock Wine Co. Ode To Lulu Rosé 2016The 2016 Lulu follows closely on the footsteps of the 2015: The vineyard and blend composition is similar and it is, as always, from old and low yielding vineyards. The Mataro element comes from two lovely but quite different vineyards. Live Oak Vineyard, planted sometime around the inauguration of William Mckinley, is an Oakley vineyard own-rooted in sand. Pagani Ranch, which needs little introduction, was planted close to the onset of Prohibition in Kenwood. To complement these two we blended in Grenache from the 1880s planting at Gibson Ranch in McDowell Valley (Mendocino). All lots were picked at low potential alcohol and whole-cluster pressed. This year's iteration is more aromatically explosive than I remember last year's being-the oftentimes stentorian Mataro showing off a bit more playfulness and the Grenache providing oodles of crunchy bright fruit.

Patrick Leon has unparalleled experience in making among the great wines of the world. A Bordeaux native with an extensive education in Oenology, Patrick studied this subject in his home town as well as business management. In 1972 Patrick joined Alexis Lichine & Company in Bordeaux beginning as a purchasing manager for its French wines. Additionally he held positions as a Technical Manager & Co General Manager of Château Lascombes Crus Classé in Margaux & Château Castéra in Lesparre-Médoc. Patrick also worked with Alexis Lichine on developing content for his books. These positions went through the mid eighties at which point Patrick would work with Baron Phillipe de Rothschild for nearly twenty years. For Baron Phillipe de Rothschild, he would serve as a Managing Director, overseeing technical departments including the company’s vineyards and winemaking facilities for Chateau Mouton Rothschild, d’armailhac, Clerc Milon, le Petit Mouton, Aile d’Argent, Opus One in California, Almaviva in Chile, Domaine de Lambert & Baron d’Arques in the Languedoc, Mouton Cadet in Bordeaux as well as other wines in the BPHR portfolio including Escudo Rojo in Chile. Patrick’s wide breadth of experience and knowledge has established the foundation to becoming a consulting oenologist and working with Sacha Lichine in this capacity.making all the Lichine wines as great as they are.
Poggio Bonelli Poggiassai Toscana 2012The Poggio Bonelli estate lies in the heart of the Chanti Classico in Tuscany and covers about 83 hectares of vineyards. The area has a lot of sandy subsoil and the vineyards are mainly positioned towards the south. Here the grapes can optimally enjoy the sun yet have a good isolation. Poggio Bonelli provides a strict and selective selection to guaranty only the best grapes are being used during the production of their wines After selecting the grapes they are destemmed and bruised, and placed in thermo-conditioned stainless steel casks. Here the grapes are being exposed to various conditioned temperatures to retain and even increase the organoleptic properties. The fermenting process takes 10 to 20 days. The further aging happens the first months in small oak barrels, from 10 to at least 21 months depending on the kind of wine. Finally, the maturation is ended by resting for three to six months in the bottle A wine with great personality, intense ruby red in colour. The nose open s with a bouquet of red fruits, mushroom, tobacco, pepper and chocolate. Soft on the palate, its texture is lavish and well-structured, rich in well-balanced tannins, never too exuberant in alcohol and freshness. The addition of Cabernet Sauvignon creates a beautiful structure, depth and a smooth note Recommended pairings: Grilled and roast red meat and medium to mature cheeses.

Louis Latour Grand Ardèche 2011The Grand Ardèche 2011 has a lovely shimmering yellow-green colour. It has a delicate bouquet with a subtle oaky touch. Still young, one must leave it for a few months in order for the the woody notes to be perfectly smooth. It is a very balanced wine with a certain nervousness present on the finish which gives it a very promising future.
Jeff Carrel Les Darons Languedoc Rouge 2014Les darons means "the fathers" because the cuvee is made in its majority of grapes from vines over 40 years at the origin from the appellations "Languedoc Grenache & Carignan.
Ferrari-Carano Fumé Blanc 2015Ferrari-Carano's 2015 Fumé Blanc is a delicious wine with aromas and flavors of pink grapefruit, pineapple, lemon grass, lychee, kiwi, honeydew, orange blossom, guava, white peach and lemon lime with a touch of minerality. This wine has bright acidity and crisp freshness from the cool, stainless steel tank fermentation, while the subtle oak character from neutral French oak barrels adds body, complexity and depth. Food Pairings: Our Fumé Blanc pairs well with simple seafood and poultry dishes, and also holds up nicely with white meats such as veal and pork. This wine has lively flavors that go well with spicy and ethnic cuisines such as Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese, Korean, Mexican and Southwestern dishes.
Ferrari-Carano Chardonnay 2014Overall 2014 was a good year. Spring produced great set, and despite a third year of drought conditions in our area vines produced ideal yields. Overall warmer temperatures during the summer months allowed fruit to achieve mature ripe flavors. Food Pairing: This versatile Chardonnay pairs perfectly with seafood, poultry, white meats and dishes with cream sauces. Try preparations that include citrus, butter, cream, cheese, bacon, nutmeg, thyme, basil or toasted nuts.
Célestin-Blondeau Sancerre Cuvée des Moulins Bales 2016Colour : Clear golden green reflections. Nose : Well-developed aromas reminding of syringa and blackcurrant evolving towards fruit cordial after a while in the glass. Palate : Full and round at first, followed by a sensation of crispness. A touch of anise lingering. Notes of gooseberries, grapefruit and mineral.This wine has particularly well kept its young character. Pairing: Fish and Seafood.
Cultivar Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2014With our 2014 vintage, our winemaker Julien Fayard continues our signature Sauvignon Blanc style, no oak and less contact during production for richness. This has resulted in wine that is already aromatic a month after bottling. Inhale notes of Jasmine, roses, and subtle citric fruits, which open to fabulous passion fruit and melon. On the palate, the wine is bright and refreshing, with delightful passion fruit and citric fruit. The finish is crisp and lingering. We're enjoying this wine with late Spring greens, grilled fish and chicken. This is the perfect wine for all of your summer entertaining.
Domaine de Pouy Côtes de Gascogne 2016This is smooth and fresh, its yellow apple flavors edged with grape skin spice. Pair with fish or seafood dishes.
PRA Soave Classico Otto 2015EXPRESSION The wine has an attractive lemon colour and a bouquet bur- sting with notes of flowers and crisp fruit. Aromas of haw- thorn and jasmine are particularly prominent, as are exotic yellow and white fruits such as peach and apricots. On the palate, the wine is medium bodied and flavoursome, full of fruit, with clear mineral notes. The wine is easy drinking and has an aftertaste of hazelnuts and nutshells. FOOD PAIRINGS This wine may be served as an aperitif and pairs excellently with elegant raw fish dishes as well as delicate starters. It also pairs well with sweet Parma ham. Excellent with pasta or rice based fish dishes and fresh cow's milk or goat's cheese.

Vallana Barbera 2014Combines fresh red fruits and spicy notes, a good acidity and soft tannins. The wine is medium bodied and very refreshing, matching a wide variety of foods. It's made in a very classic, old school Piedmont style.
Chateau Recougne Bordeaux Superieur 2015A pleasant fruity nose, a deep and powerful structure and round, velvety tannins make for a very elegant, rich and complex bottle of wine. These qualities appreciated in Bordeaux wines offer this wine great ageing potential, as demonstrated by the 1952 vintages, which keep all their freshness.
Reunion Malbec 2015This sustainably farmed, single vineyard estate wine is composed of 100% hand harvested Malbec from the Los Sauces of Mendoza. It has a deep, concentrated red color with purple hints. It is a very expressive wine with ripe, fruity aromas of plum and cherry, as well as notes of chocolate. Reunión Malbec is soft and round on the palate with velvety and mature tannins; it has a well balanced and full-bodied long finish.
Orin Swift Mannequin 2014A luminous pale-straw complexion envelops the glass. In harmony, the wine offers pleasing aromatics of jasmine, Granny Smith apple, orange blossom, poached pear, honey-lemon, and roasted marshmallow. The entry is assertive with bright acidity that quickly softens to a largess of flavors including crème brulée, white peach, tangerine oil, honey-suckle, and roasted marshmallow. An engaging mineral note is present throughout the tasting juxtaposed with the right amount of supple texture to provide balance. The finish is lively and radiant with a stony tinge reflecting the provenance.

Novellum Chardonnay 2015Someone once made an unflattering comparison between Chardonnay and a part of one's anatomy best left unmentioned, saying, "everyone's got one, no one wants to hear about yours." Sadly Chardonnay is a victim of its own success and frequently a punch line despite being one of the most highly esteemed wines in its guise of Grand Cru Chablis or Montrachet. We are not claiming that Novellum is like these auspicious wines but we will argue that for its price you can hardly find better. For many years we worked with a cooperative in the Languedoc to make Novellum from a special site that in most years had some botrytis, giving the wine weight without resorting to oak. Since that time we've moved the project to the Roussillon where Jean-Marc and Eliane Lafage have some Chardonnay planted near the Mediterranean that makes a remarkably complex and mineral version of the variety. There is no botrytis here so we resort to a small percentage in barrel - usually less than 20%. The remainder of the wine is aged in tank on the lees of Viognier. It remains one of the best values in Chardonnay that you can find.
