Medium garnet/purple, the 2013 Hyland Coonawarra Shiraz opens to scents of minted blackberries and black cherries accented by a pepper and spice undercurrent. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is savory with an herbal lift, medium levels of chunky tannins and a good length.

Firm in texture, with a fine balance to the spicy, slightly burnt roasted beet and berry flavors, lingering well. Best after 2017. 500 cases imported.
