A mix of Grenache Noir, Syrah, Cinsault, Carignan, Mourvèdre, Clairette and Vermentino, all sourced from vines planted on clay-limestone and stony soils, the 2022 Cotes de Provence Rose Corail displays a lively, very fresh bouquet with aromas of peach, red berries, lemon and spring floral. Tense and perfectly balanced with racy acids and a moderately weighted structure, it's fresh, juicy and supple, with gorgeous notes of grapefruit and red berries on the finish. I have a weakness for this small estate in Roquefort La Bédule.

A perennial standout, Corail is on point in 2019, with subtle scents of rose petals and salt air, and tangy, fresh strawberry flavor. Raimond de Villeneuve blends it from a range of grapes (syrah, grenache, carignan, cinsault and mourvèdre, as well as vermentino and clairette), all farmed biodynamically at his estate on the edge of Bandol

The 2022 Rosé Corail is pungently herbal and earthy upon first tilt of the glass, slowly evolving into a bouquet of dried flowers and spiced citrus rinds. It washes across the palate with silky textures, delivering a mineral- tinged mix of ripe orchard fruits and contrasting sour melon. A salty kick defines the finale, as the 2022 finishes unexpectedly fresh and clean.
