Crios Torrontés 2013
International Wine CellarPale green-tinged yellow. Peach and soft citrus aromas are accented by a touch of spice. Rich, chewy, complex and dry, showing an almost oily texture to the flavors of yellow peach, pineapple, pear and anise lifted by flowers. Offers a terrific combination of chewy texture and inner-mouth energy. Finishes sappy, saline and long, with excellent grip. This has the umami texture to complement sushi and sashimi. This bottling is consistently excellent--and a top value.
Wine AdvocateThe 2013 Crios Torrontes comes from Cafayate in Salta and Altamira in Uco Valley, Mendoza, approximately 50/50. It is quite aromatic and showy, with notes of flowers, lime, spice (white pepper) and talcum powder, a crisp and light palate, as well as lively citric acidity and hints of pears and rose petals that remind me of a Gewurztraminer. A benchmark un-oaked Torrontes. Drink now-2016.
