Querciabella Chianti Classico 2012

SKU 30885

Querciabella's Chianti Classico comes from Faule, Il Diavolo, La Collina, Le Piazze, Pallonaio, S. Lucia, Tinamicaio and Tonio Sotto of Ruffoli; Frosino of Panzano; Oasi and Rialdoli of Radda; Galenda, Sotto Castello and Sotto Castello Sud of Gaiole. Exposure is Southeast, South and Southwest. The first vintage of Chianti Classico was 1974 and these vineyards have been cultivated organically since 1988, and in 2000 have undergone a full conversion to biodynamic techniques. The soil found at an altitude of 350m is composed of disgregated turbidite sandstone and marly schist with clay-like features. Slate and sandstone are most prevalent in the hilltop area (550m), where the soil is loose and conducive to drainage, as is the case of the Radda and Panzano vineyards.

Wine EnthusiastAlluring aromas of ripe plum, fragrant violet, menthol and baking spice emerge on this savory, enjoyable red. The juicy, easy-drinking palate combines an enticing weightless quality with succulent fruit including fleshy black cherry, crushed raspberry, licorice and chopped herb alongside round, polished tannins.
