This is a soft, fruity wine with comfortable tannins and bold black fruits. It is smoothly textured with just a hint of dryness. Now maturing well, this attractive wine should be ready from 2017.

This is the generic Bordeaux from the Domaine Clarence Dillon. When they first told me about this, I thought it was probably not the best idea in the world, but the quality of the wine speaks for itself. I think they have been right on the money with what they have achieved with this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and a little Cabernet Franc. Deep ruby/purple, with notes of Graves-like scorched earth, charcoal and blackcurrants, this wine is dense, medium-bodied, quite supple and rich. Despite its precociousness, it clearly has capacity, with this depth and structure, to age 7-10 years.
