Pietradolce Etna Bianco Archineri 2013

SKU 32400

We have chosen to cultivate only grape varieties which are native to Mount Etna and we grow them for the most part as traditional bushes. We made this choice because of our deeply held conviction that these are most suited to local conditions. So it is that Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and Carricante are and will be the main players in our history.

Wine AdvocateThe 2013 Etna Bianco Archineri is a full package Italian white. This is a pure expression of Carricante from 125-year-old, pre-phylloxera vines planted at 850 meters in altitude on the eastern flank of Etna near Milo. All the intensity you feel here comes from the suburb quality of fruit from these precious, ancient vines. The bouquet shows citrusy freshness with white peach, honey and cantaloupe melon. The mouthfeel is creamy and crisp with streamlined precision and great sense of energy. This Etna white has the acidity and natural structure for moderate cellar aging.

Wine EnthusiastMade from Carricante vines that are between 100 and 120 years old, this offers intense aromas of honey, acacia, Spanish broom and white fruit. The vibrant palate is layered with concentrated peach, grapefruit and a sprinkling of Mediterranean herbs alongside brisk acidity. A mineral note signals the close.
