The wines of Chambolle have always been highly prized for their finesse and elegance. The color is lovely. Aromas are very complex and evoke violet, cherries and humus, with blackberry and noble tannins coating the palate. Extremely well balanced, the wine has a very persistent, rounded finish. With age, the aromas turn to mushroom and underbrush, while conserving all their finesse. Chambolle-Musigny should be served with delicately prepared dishes, such as "Canard aux cerises" (duck cooked with cherries) or "Boeuf aux morilles" (beef with morels). The cheeses should be ripe but not too strong.

Wine AdvocateThe 2016 Chambolle-Musigny Village has a light and rather linear bouquet that is missing the sensuality that other vintages of this exact wine have offered. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin and nicely judged acidity; however, it does not offer the panache or the harmony of either the Vosne-Romanée or the Gevrey-Chambertin. Hopefully, there will be some uplift once this is in bottle.
