Domaine Bousquet Reserve Malbec 2016
|Region||Argentina, Mendoza, Tupungato|
Slightly riper, darker and more concentrated, the 2016 Malbec Grande Reserve follows the house style and is light, with moderate concentration and some dusty tannins, easy to drink and better with food. 30,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in October 2017.
Reedy stalky aromas of leathery berry fruits are not surprising given how cool 2016 was. This Malbec feels solid but low on fruit, resulting in lean woody red-plum and red-currant flavors. A flush but tannic finish ranks as dry.
Shows good cut to the dark currant, blackberry and crushed red plum flavors that are supported by fresh acidity. The lithe, spicy finish features peppery accents. Drink now through 2020. 12,524 cases made.
