Schild Estate GMS 2015
|Region||Australia, South Australia, Barossa|
Dark ruby, clear and bright in colour. Intense notes of dense yet bright red berry compote fruit sit alongside fainter hints of brambly winter hedgerows and Christmas cake spice. A controlled and smooth passage through the palate with a certain ripe fruit presence. The wine remains light on its feet with a real sense of prettiness to the palate which surprises given the intensity of the nose.
Toasted herb, gingerbread and black tea notes have a dark and brooding side, with fleshy black cherry and plum flavors at the core. Polished and spicy on the long finish, showing a hint of sarsaparilla. Grenache, Mourvèdre and Shiraz. Drink now through 2027. 8,700 cases made.
