This invariably highly prized excellent Tuscan wine originates from a somewhat warmer zone around the Mediterranean, but is aromatic and wonderfully fresh. Notes of juicy blackcurrant, cedar wood and wild forest strawberries, mixed with delicate nuanced of rosemary and pepper, can be discerned. Beautifully balanced and harmonic, with a silky soft and complex structure. A perfect marriage of international sorts of Cabernet and Merlot with the local Sangiovese wine. A great wine of the Maremma region. Food Pairing: Steak, barbecue, meat dishes, game, mushroom or truffle risotto, ripe mountain cheeses.

The 2015 Bolgheri Superiore Grattamacco is big, bold and absolutely stunning. This blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 15% Sangiovese is dark and luscious, with overlapping melodies of tobacco, spice, dark fruit and grilled herb. There is so much depth and power. This vintage is a gem for your cellar, and the wine should award a long aging trajectory for those who have the patience to wait.

What a lovely nose that marries fresh elements of graphite, lead pencil, crushed violets and stones and riper notes of blackberry pie and blueberry cake. Full body, very polished tannins, an unmistakable serving of acidity and a long, mineral finish. A blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and sangiovese. Made from organically grown grapes. ICEA certified. Drink in 2022.

Complex cherry, currant, mineral, spice and tobacco aromas signal this serious version. Despite the ripe fruit flavors and sweet tones, this has grip and the potential for development. Hangs together nicely now, in a youthful phase. Shows terrific length. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese. Best from 2022 through 2038.
