Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux Vosne Romanée 2015
|Region||France, Burgundy, Vosne-Romanée|
The wine is made from a blend of several different vineyards: Les Communes, Les Saules and Les Bossières. The soils of these parcels are all very similar- clay and lime mixed with marl- and all enjoy a full eastern exposure. The average age of the vines is about 50 years old. 70% whole-cluster fermentation and 15% new oak. Wow! Structured, fine tannins and incredible complexity.
A top note of blood orange introduces this crisp red, with cherry, currant and floral flavors allied to a bracing structure. Fine length. Best from 2020 through 2032.
Healthy dark red. Enticing aromas of raspberry, spices, bitter chocolate and licorice. Wonderfully dense but juicy too, with its black fruit and mint flavors lifted by a floral element. Voluminous, classy, perfumed and very long, with the tannins barely noticeable today. A superb village wine. -
A more deeply pitched and distinctly spicier nose combines notes of violet, plum, black cherry and a hint of sandalwood. There is fine intensity to the velvety yet impressively precise medium weight flavors that are at once seductive yet punchy while delivering excellent depth and length on the balanced finish. This too is recommended for a top quality and age-worthy villages.
