Grounded Wine Company Public Radio Red 2016
|Region||California, Central Coast, Paso Robles|
|Brand||Grounded Wine Company|
Appearance: A bright garnet red color. Aroma: Fresh notes of crushed red plum, cherry and raspberry. Flavor: On the palate, the wine is compellingly youthful and instantly charming, with deeply resonant flavors of anise, strawberry, cherry pie, black tea leaf and cinnamon. The tannins are firm, yet velvety smooth, as the wine builds toward a luxuriously long, fragrant finish.
Roasted pork, nutmeg, vanilla and mulberry aromas show on the nose of this blend of 64% Grenache, 27% Syrah and 9% Petite Sirah, part of Napa winemaker Josh Phelps' new venture. It's smooth on the palate with loads of star anise and gingerbread flavors that play against a roasted red- and black-plum backdrop.
