This easy wine is a blend of 60% Sangiovese and 40% Montepulciano, two workhorse grapes found throughout Umbria. The unoaked 2016 Polago is engineered as a value blend to offer cheerful but fundamentally one-dimensional berry flavors and aromas. There is a touch of candied orange peel here as well with some distant herbal overtones.

A balanced, light- to medium-bodied red, with light tannins and a subtle, creamy profile of ripe cherry, fresh earth, citrus and dried herb flavors. Sangiovese and Montepulciano. Drink now.
