One sexy Gigondas that's loaded with notions of kirsch, black cherries, graphite, and crushed rock-like minerality, the medium-bodied 2017 Gigondas Le Mas has a terrific core of sweet fruit, ripe tannins, and a great finish. Based on 80% Grenache and 10% each of Syrah and Grenache, raised 80% in concrete tanks and 20% in barrels, it's a ripe, polished wine that stays pure, balanced, and Provençal. Drink it over the coming 7-8 years or more.

Deep glistening crimson. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes ripe red fruits, incense and candied flowers, and a smoky mineral note builds in the glass. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering primary raspberry and bitter cherry flavors and an earthy licorice accent. Takes on a spicy quality on the back half that carries strongly through the impressively long, gently tannic finish.

The full-bodied, supple, easy-drinking 2017 Gigondas is a blend of 80% Grenache and 10% each Mourvèdre and Syrah. Peppery, herbal notes accent red fruit flavors, while the tangy finish is clean, fresh and silky.
