Domaine Felines Jourdan Picpoul de Pinet 2018The Bassin-de-Thau , located just to the south-east of Montpellier, is a large inland expanse of water , with a very narrow thread of land hosting the town of Sete in the lee of the Mediterranean. Just to the north we find Domaine Felines Jourdan, widely regarded as the best producer in the region of the highly fashionable Picpoul-de-Pinet varietal. The etymology of the grape variety gives a clue to the style; ‘pique’ implying the crispness and firmness, ‘poule’, rather more tangentially, hinting at soft and maternal qualities. The wine has fine coloring with hints of green. It boasts a spicy and floral nose, distinctive with echoes of gun flint, aniseed and fennel, not to mention oyster shell, pebbles and almost a hint of honey. The wine is an unbeatable match for seafood platter, grilled fish and, when in season, asparagus. Most picpoul is made by one or two large co-operatives who make clean, but not always exciting wine. However, a few growers still make and bottle their own wine and this is one of the best. A Languedoc equivalent to Italy’s Soave
Paul Jaboulet Aine Cotes du Rhone Secret de Famille Blanc 2016Grenache endows a silky flesh, Marsanne lending a sleek vivacity, Viognier brings the aromatic exuberance, and the Bourbolenc delivers with floral freshness. A lively mineral-laced Rhone white, with wet stones and laser pure white fruit in a lip smacking and succulent white. Delivers the elegance and texture of the finest cool climate white wines.
Bouchard Pere & Fils Bourgogne 2015Intense color with a very aromatic bouquet of small ripe red fruits like cherry, raspberry, and currant. Beautiful flesh in mouth, a delicious marriage where tannins and fruits are pleasantly mixed. Founded in 1731, Maison Bouchard Père & Fils is one of Burgundy’s oldest wine merchant houses. Over the centuries, the House has been devoted to acquiring highly renowned parcels, in order to build a prestigious domaine: 130 hectares of vines in the heart of the Côte d’Or - 12 classified as Grand Crus and 74 as Premier Crus. The famed vineyards include: Beaune Gréves Vigne de L’Enfant Jésus, Chevalier-Montrachet, Montrachet, Corton, Corton-Charlemagne, Bonnes-Mares and Clos Vougeot to name a few. In 1995 this exceptional collection was purchased by Joseph Henriot, and is today part of Maisons & Domaines Henriot. Maison Bouchard Père & Fils has invested in a modern cuverie enabling the vinification of more than 100 different crus. From the vine to bottle, the process is handled with meticulous care, to ensure the most faithful expression of each terroir. Installed since the beginning of the 19th century on the site of the ancient Château de Beaune, Maison Bouchard Père & Fils uses the underground galleries and bastions of this fortress built by Luis XI, 10 meters below ground, for the slow maturing of its wines under optimal conditions. Millions of bottles, including a rare collection of prephylloxera wines rest in the cellars today protected by 7 meter thick walls.
Domaine de Vaufuget Vouvray 2016Straw color with white fruit aromas enhanced by subtle notes of wildflowers. Luscious and full on the palate, forward mixed-fruit flavors of ripe peaches, green figs, even a hint of banana; there's a distinct impression of sweetness. There's some acidity behind it all, drying it out a bit as the wine crosses the palate.

Etienne Sauzet Puligny Montrachet 2016
Bouchard Pere & Fils Chassagne Montrachet 2016Rich aromas of red and black fruit. A fleshy, structured yet totally elegant wine. Good ageing potential. Pair with grilled and roasted meat, medium-flavored cheeses. The 2016’s are back to the great “acid backbone” of the 2014’s. On the south of the Côte de Beaune, the village of Chassagne became Chassagne-Montrachet in the 19th century, thereby benefiting from the notoriety of the mythical Montrachet Grand Cru. Facing east – southeast, the vineyards are planted with both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, which produces some of the finest white wines in the world. Founded in 1731, Maison Bouchard Père & Fils is one of Burgundy’s oldest wine merchant houses. Over the centuries, the House has been devoted to acquiring highly renowned parcels, in order to build a prestigious domaine: 130 hectares of Crus. The famed vineyards include: Beaune Grèves Vigne de L’Enfant Jésus, Chevalier-Montrachet, Montrachet, Corton, Corton-Charlemagne, Bonnes-Mares and Clos Vougeot to name a few.
Ladoucette Pouilly Fumé 2017Pale golden-green in color. The nose develops a natural range of subtle floral and earthy green plant aromas such as acacia, ferns, peppermint and white nettles. Notes of stony minerals and lemon give the wine a beautiful structure balanced by a fruity roundness, with a finish marked by hints of citrus fruits.
Domaine Manciat-Poncet Macon Charnay Les Chênes 2016A perenial favorite from this fine producer, this wine is fermented and aged 100% in stainless steel tanks to preserve all of the zesty fruit and mineral qualities that fine Mâcon should exhibit. The chardonnay fruit for this wine comes from the Manciats' middle-aged vineyards in and around the village of Charnay. 100% hand-harvested grapes (a rarity in the region) and attention to detail at every level make this one of the purist, most satisfying white burgundies in its class. The nose is of ripe green apples with just a hint of citrus. Not muddled by oak that would overpower the delicate fruit, it shows crisp acidity and good mineral punch in the middle while finishing plump and long. A great value in chardonnay!
Pernot Belicard Puligny Montrachet 2015Forty five year old vines create a very classic Puligny. Great intensity and plenty of extract, with minerality and a smokiness. Drink from 2017.
Domaine des Perdrix Vosne Romanée 2014Garnet colour with purple tints. The nose is discret at a first glance offering dark fruits notes, ashes and undergrowth. Domaine St. Peyre Viognier 2018The colour is a wonderful brilliant yellow with mother of pearl tints.
