Aubry's NV Brut is a perennially excellent alternative to lesser-quality big brand Champagnes. All of the grapes used to make this wine come from coveted Premier Cru villages. The wine is aged for at least 24 months (far more than the minimum required for NV Champagne) and the finished product is redolent of yellow apple, pear, citrus, and brioche. A high-quality fantastic value!

A harmonious version, bright and focused, offering a pleasing mix of candied black raspberry, roasted walnut, brioche, lemon curd and chalk. Offers a clean-cut, lightly spiced finish. Disgorged September 2014. Drink now through 2018. 1,400 cases imported

The NV Aubry Brut is a Premier Cru from Jouy-lès-Reims. The wine I have tasted was an assemblage of 45% Meunier, 25% Chardonnay, 25% Pinot Noir and 5% "other" (which means Arbanne et.al.), based on 60% 2011 and 40% "solera" or perpetual reserve, started in 1998. Disgorged in 2/2014, the wine offers a clear and subtle bouquet of white pip fruits, carambola and citrus flavors along with some oak, nut, rye, cracker and spicy flavors. Round and elegant on the palate, this is a clear, dry, well structured and balanced Champagne with a nicely mineral/iodine taste, as well as a very good and characterful finish. It is good as an aperitif but also serves the first courses.

This is a full, ripe Champagne with a lightly mineral texture. It comes from the northern end of the Montagne de Reims, giving dominance to Pinot Noir. It is a food-style of Champagne, with its dry texture and almond and citric flavors.
