Chateau Garraud Lalande de Pomerol 2015
|Region||France, Bordeaux, Lalande-de-Pomerol|
The 2015 Château Garraud is a ripe, rounded, medium-bodied Lalande de Pomerol offering plenty of ripe cherry fruit, notes of dried herbs, underbrush and spice, medium-bodied richness, and sweet tannin. It has plenty of charm and is certainly a solid wine that should last for a decade.
The 2015 Garraud is a very pretty, mid-weight Lalande de Pomerol. Bright red cherry fruit and floral notes add character to this supple, nicely balanced wine. I would prefer to drink it on the early side. The blend is 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Medium garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Garraud is a little reduced, opening out to notes of warm red and black plums, tar and scorched earth plus a waft of wild thyme. Medium to full-bodied, it's a little firm and hard with herbal accents and a chewy finish.
