Domaine Georges Chicotot Bourgogne Cote d'Or 2019

Opening in the glass with attractive aromas of sweet berry fruit, cherries and loamy soil, the 2019 Bourgogne Côte d'Or is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and concentrated, with lively acids, ripe tannins and a long, penetrating finish. This is a superb and uncommonly intensely flavored regional wine, and only a touch of reduction holds it back from another point-just as its Nomacorc closure compresses my suggested drinking window. This derives from holdings in Prémeaux on the border with the commune of Nuits-Saint-Georges.
