Felipe Rutini Coleccion Cabernet Malbec 2015
Felipe Rutini Coleccion Cabernet Malbec 2015
A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon & 50% Malbec represents the true richness of the Uco Valley. On the nose, full bodied fruit aromas of cherry, marmalade & plum are present. The mouth feel combines the mature fruit essence with rich spices of vanilla & chocolate from the time in oak. Persistent structure and silky tannins leaving for a long and lasting finish VINEYARDS: Cabernet from Tupungato, Malbec from La Consulta, San Carlos; Mendoza. MALOLACTIC FERMENTATION: 100%. OAK REGIMEN: 50% New French Oak & 50% New American Oak for 12 months. The Rutini family winemaking tradition began in the early 19th century in Le Marche, Italy, when Francisco Rutini started making wines for the inhabitants of his native town, Ascoli Piceno. Thereafter, his only son Felipe Rutini immigrated to the Americas to extend the winemaking tradition. It was in Coquimbito, Maipu, in the province of Mendoza Argentina that he planted his first vines, further starting the Rutini Wines legacy. Since its foundation in 1885, Rutini Wines has been recognized for its extraordinary quality and character of its wines. As Don Felipe Rutini built the winery under the slogan ¨Labor and Perseverance¨, he created a lasting legacy for top quality wines in Argentina. Don Felipe continued developing his vineyard in Maipu, and thereafter expanded his operations to Los Corralitos and Medrano regions of Mendoza. This expansion duplicated the capacity of the winery, as it brought in large vats and Nancy oak barrels from France. Don Felipe passed away in 1919, leaving his descendents in charge of the company. Continuing the excellence and tradition, the Rutini family began to develop further the production of fine white and red varietals such as Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec. Later on, the Chenin grape was also incorporated. Leading the industry in 1925, the Rutini family planted the first vineyards in Tupungato, in the heart of the Uco Valley. Named after one of Mendoza´s mountain peaks, the Tupungato Valley was no more than a stop-over on the road to the mountains when the Rutini family began to plants their first vines. At an elevation of 3000 to 5000 feet (900 to 1500 meters) above sea level, the Tupungato Valley offers many different microclimates, creating optimal growing conditions. Today it is recognized as one of Mendoza´s premier viticulture regions. Combining the long tradition of production and wish to constantly evolve and innovate, Rutini Wines is recognized as one of the most successful and relevant brands of our time.

Orin Swift Eight Years In The Desert Red 2017
Dark garnet with a lucid rim, the wine exhibits aromas of briar fruit, ripe blackberry and dark plum with a tinge of minerality and charred meat. Brawny on the entry, it has an equally big mid-palate with complex flavors of ripe brambly fruit, a touch of earth and notes of espresso bean. Still massive through to the finish with soft drying tannins, the unique varietal characteristics of the blend clearly reveal themselves over time.

Clos de Los Siete Red Blend 2015
Clos de Los Siete Red Blend 2015
The 2015 vintage reminds me to some extent of my hometown of Bordeaux because of the high levels of rain. The Malbec once again demonstrated its versatility, revealing itself in all its glory in this wine of which it constitutes 58% of the blend. The tell-tale signs of its presence are expressed in the attractive ruby red colour and purple tints around the edges, and the bouquet bursting with aromas of violet and red fruit with predominant notes of plum, later complemented by scents of black fruit and spices from the nice ripe Merlot and the Cabernet Sauvignon. On the palate, the attack is pleasant and sweet with a fleshy, full-bodied texture that is well-balanced. The smoothness of the Malbec and Syrah harmonise with the tannic structure of the Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, which bestow a flavoursome, lingering finale upon the wine. The subtle hints of aging in wood barrels only serve to add complexity to this blend, which boasts all the typical elegance of cool vintage years, promising excellent aging potential. A fine example to enjoy. Cheers!

Chateau du Glana Saint-Julien 2014
Chateau du Glana Saint-Julien 2014
Château Du Glana is located on the Route des Grands Vins running parallel to the Gironde estuary, between the towns of Beychevelle and Saint-Julien, opposite the famous Château Ducru-Beaucaillou. Château Du Glana was constructed in 1870 by Mr Nadeau, the city of Blaye's architect, for Mr Cayx. At about this time, a small (5 hectares) vineyard of gravelly soil was consolidated thanks to the purchase of several plots of land from neighbouring Château Saint-Pierre.  After several other owners, Mr Gabriel Meffre bought Château Du Glana in 1961. He increased the vineyard to 43 hectares in the following years by acquiring several plots belonging to third growth Château Lagrange.  Helped by his young sons Ludovic and Julien, Jean-Paul Meffre now looks after the estate. They are motivated by a major ambition: to achieve the estate's full potential.  Surrounded by some of finest great growths in the Médoc, Château Du Glana has made tremendous strides in quality since 1999. Much thought has gone into making improvements over the past several years and the vineyard has been entirely renovated. Château Du Glana produces modern elegant wines of character reflecting the estate's superb terroir.  The estate's completely restored buildings (vat room, grape reception area, ageing cellar, offices, and reception room), the immense care taken in the vineyard, and precious winemaking advice from Professor Denis Dubourdieu provide a sound equilibrium between modern methods and respect for tradition. Château Du Glana is thus a well-balanced, velvety, and complex wine enjoyable young, but also with excellent ageing potential (over ten years).

Château-Meyney St. Estephe 2014
Château-Meyney St. Estephe 2014
Château Meyney's vineyard is planted of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot, on a perfectly-drained gravel soil that provides ideal conditions for grapes ripening. This unusually high share of Petit Verdot explains a particular trait of the wines, which regularly show notes of leather and musk after a period of time. The wine is full-bodied, well-rounded and structured. After ageing, the wine displays the remarkable charm of the best Saint-Estèphe: complexity, balance and harmony.

Château-La-Croix-de-Beaucaillou Saint Julien 2014
Château-La-Croix-de-Beaucaillou Saint Julien 2014
Most of the vineyards, from the greatest to the more modest ones, now produce a second growth. It is therefore essential to consider the soil's possibilities as well as the quality requirements of the wine owner. Indeed, the quality level of the second wine is directly derived from the first of these elements. Croix Beaucaillou, like a first growth, is therefore submitted to careful selection. Most of the wines coming from the plots of young vineyard as well as the lesser batches will incorporate the third growth which will be sold or... drunk at the chateau. Croix de Beaucaillou is thus subjected to a reasoned blending aimed at producing a wine which will of course reveal its assets earlier than Ducru B but also the characteristics of a great Saint Julien: elegance, finesse and of course its ability to age. It is worth noting that this wine is far superior to the connotation of 'second wine'. It is a great, noble wine, which we are sure will play a prominent role in the Saint-Julien appellation. La Croix de Beaucaillou has been bottled on the property since 1995

Chateau Charmail Haut Medoc 2015
Chateau Charmail Haut Medoc 2015
Charmail is on the banks of the Gironde River, which makes for milder temperatures and shelters it from really hard frosts in the winter, which can have disastrous effects on the vines. From the property we enjoy a truly magnificent view. The vineyard is made up of one single plot, which extends right to the water's edge. On some mornings, sunrise can be quite magical as the first light plays on the water the mist and the vines. “An ocean of vines coursing into the river; it's an amazing spectacle!” B. d’Halluin The estate is also ideally located on rolling slopes facing south, which contributes to grape ripening, while the vines are often exposed to light winds, which keeps fresh air circulating around their leaves and the fruit. History The name of the estate comes from its 16th century origins, when the Trevey de Charmail family settled in the Medoc. The property’s reputation really began to be known from the beginning of the 18th century. Since then vines have always been cultivated here. The strength of our terroir today comes from this history and the Medoc traditions. 1982  Olivier Sèze took over operations in 1982. In a few years, with his vision and thoroughness he managed to impose a distinct style of winemaking here and made Charmail one of the most valued wines bearing the Haut Medoc label. Vintage after vintage for nearly 30 years, he has made superbly well-balanced wines. 2008  Bernard d’Halluin, a guy from Lille in northern France, who was fed Bordeaux wine in his baby’s bottle made his dream come true of buying a wine estate. While looking for a property in the Bordeaux area, he fell in love with Charmail. Both he and Olivier share the same passion and complement each other admirably in the daily running of the estate. When the estate changed hands, new ambitions came to Charmail, such as enlarging the vineyard: 6 hectares (15 acres) were bought back in 2010 returning the vineyard to its original size. New buildings were also brought into use and new objectives were set for the work in the vines, while initiatives were taken to really promote Charmail wines at exhibitions and tastings.

Bouchard Pere & Fils Bourgogne 2015
Intense color with a very aromatic bouquet of small ripe red fruits like cherry, raspberry, and currant. Beautiful flesh in mouth, a delicious marriage where tannins and fruits are pleasantly mixed. Founded in 1731, Maison Bouchard Père & Fils is one of Burgundy’s oldest wine merchant houses. Over the centuries, the House has been devoted to acquiring highly renowned parcels, in order to build a prestigious domaine: 130 hectares of vines in the heart of the Côte d’Or - 12 classified as Grand Crus and 74 as Premier Crus. The famed vineyards include: Beaune Gréves Vigne de L’Enfant Jésus, Chevalier-Montrachet, Montrachet, Corton, Corton-Charlemagne, Bonnes-Mares and Clos Vougeot to name a few. In 1995 this exceptional collection was purchased by Joseph Henriot, and is today part of Maisons & Domaines Henriot. Maison Bouchard Père & Fils has invested in a modern cuverie enabling the vinification of more than 100 different crus. From the vine to bottle, the process is handled with meticulous care, to ensure the most faithful expression of each terroir. Installed since the beginning of the 19th century on the site of the ancient Château de Beaune, Maison Bouchard Père & Fils uses the underground galleries and bastions of this fortress built by Luis XI, 10 meters below ground, for the slow maturing of its wines under optimal conditions. Millions of bottles, including a rare collection of prephylloxera wines rest in the cellars today protected by 7 meter thick walls.

My estate is located in the tiny village of Morgon in the heart of Beaujolais crus. I’m working on 19 hectares with 3 guaranteed vintage of red wines, (Beaujolais villages 5 hectares; Régnié 1 hectare; Morgon 13 hectares) Born into a family of generations of wine growers, my passion is reflected in your glass when you taste these typical wines produced from my vineyards. Villa Wolf Pinot Noir Rosé 2017
Villa Wolf Pinot Noir Rosé 2017
The Pfalz (aka ‘Palatinate’) region is in the Rhine river valley in southwest Germany, directly north of France’s Alsace region. The low-lying Haardt mountains protect the area from cold, wet Atlantic weather, making it one of the warmer and drier areas of Germany. Wine grapes do quite well here where it is possible to achieve full ripeness in every vintage. The predominant soil type in this area is well-drained, weathered sandstone. It produces wines with a fruit-driven purity and a stony structure. The Villa Wolf Pinot Noir Rosé is made with fruit from vineyards farmed expressly for the purpose of producing a rosé. Only perfectly ripe , healthy grapes are selected. Upon harvest the fruit is given a brief maceration (four to six hours) to extract a lovely salmon color from the Pinot Noir grapes. The resulting wine is light and refreshing, with deliciously bright fruit flavors and a clean, zippy finish.

Unlike many Sancerre Roses, Gerard harvests his Pinot specifically to make rose by direct press, then into tank. It is not a selection of young vines as he has no young Pinot vines. What makes the rosé one year could make red another, and vice versa, depending on what the vintage gives.

Château-Puech-Haut Prestige Rosé 2017
Château-Puech-Haut Prestige Rosé 2017
Not yet reviewed; 2015 vintage rated 90-92 points by Jeb Dunnuck (Wine Advocate): "The entry-level Rosé is the 2015 Languedoc Cuvee Prestige Rose, and it continues to be a sensational value. Made from 60% Grenache and 40% Cinsault, it’s light pink color is followed by perfumed notes of strawberries, orange blossom and spring flowers. Juicy, clean and refreshing, yet with texture, buy a case of this." The Prestige Rosé is finished in a unique opaque bottle with an all glass closure. Chateau Puech Haut occupies 170 hectares including 100 hectares of vines in Saint-Drézéry, a small village 15 km northeast of Montpellier, in the foothills of the Cevennes and belongs to the AOC Coteause du Langedoc. In Provence, a 'Puech' means a small hill (or mountain), a 'Puech Haut' is a hill higher than the others. This position, 'on a hill higher than the others', is conducive to exceptional drainage for the vineyards. The clay and limestone soil is composed of boulders brought by the Rhone in the Quaternary and its plots reside on hillsides protected from excessive temperatures by the nearby Mediterranean Sea and winds including the Mistral, the north wine pervasive in the region.
