Structured wine, very perfumed, the aromas reflecting the delicious mix of black cherry, damson and spice flavors. The wine then shows strong tannins and a firm texture.

The NV Lodge Reserve Port is a November 2018 bottling with the typical major grapes in the region, aged up to three years in wood. It comes in with a bar-top cork and 110 grams per liter of residual sugar. Solid in the mid-palate, this shows good concentration for the category and some power on the finish as well. The expression of fruit is not quite as interesting, but it gives you the impression of a rather serious wine. This showed better with some air. Overall, it's a nice success.

Lots of vanilla overtones join the sweet cherry and dark plum flavors. Hot spice marks the finish.
