A mix of cherry candy, black currant, mineral and floral flavors marks this tightly woven red. Taut and compact on the finish, where earth and spice elements emerge, this remains persistent and long. Best from 2017 through 2024. 8,333 cases made.

The 2012 Chianti Classico Riserva Ser Lapo shows slightly bigger astringency and a more rustic personality in this vintage. This is a single-vineyard expression located below the winery with clay soils and lots of small stones. The plot is planted to three different clones of Sangiovese and is located some 300 meters above sea level (altitude is important to Sangiovese). The wine is bright and tonic with fruit flavors that rise cheerfully from the bouquet. The mouthfeel is just a tad thinner in this edition.
