Chateau Lacoste Borie Pauillac 2014
|Region||France, Bordeaux, Pauillac|
|Brand||Chateau Lacoste Borie|
The 2014 Lacoste-Borie was showing a little earthiness on the nose, perhaps not quite as pure and as defined as I would have been hoping. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannin, grainy in texture with brambly red fruit laced with baking powder and white pepper towards what feels like a light finish. I must admit that given the barrel showing, I was hoping for more from this.
Fresh and clean with citrus and berry character. Medium body, firm tannins and a clean finish. Lean and clean.
Attractive freshness and ease on the nose - nothing forced. Sinews and by no means opulent but correct and fresh. Though a little drying on the end. Relatively light but a nice, satisfying finish. Made to be a luncheon claret! Drink 2019-2027
