The 2016 Chardonnay Grand Reserve is sourced entirely from estate vineyards in Santa Barbara and Monterey. Pliant and supple, with terrific depth, the Grand Reserve is another wine that punches above its weight. Apricot, orange peel, mint, chamomile and lightly honeyed notes all add nuance.

Rich and well-crafted, with some lavender accents to the melon, white cherry and pear flavors that feature a creamy texture. The spicy finish is smooth and silky. Drink now through 2021. 100,000 cases made.

A small step up in price, the 2016 Chardonnay Grand Reserve comes from Santa Barbara and Monterey counties and was brought up all in French oak, 29% new. This cuvée goes completely through malolactic fermentation. Similarly colored to the Vintners Reserve, with vibrant notes of pineapple, mango, spice, and honeyed citrus, it's clean, nicely balanced, and textured, with loads of charm. It's another well-made, borderline outstanding Chardonnay to drink over the coming couple of years.

Meyer lemon, hazelnut and Gravenstein apple aromas show on the clean and restrained nose of this Chardonnay that comes from Santa Barbara and Monterey counties. Rounded peach blossom, Bartlett pear and more roasted nuts appear on the tightly wound sip.

The 2016 Chardonnay Grand Reserve is scented of ripe honeydew melons, peach blossoms and rose water with a waft of honey-drizzled apricots. Medium-bodied, lively and with plenty of ripe melon and stone fruit flavors, it has nice spice and toast suggestions. 150,000 cases were produced.
