Bouchard Pere & Fils Bourgogne Reserve Chardonnay 2019
|France, Burgundy, Bourgogne
|Bouchard Pere & Fils
Ripe fruit flavors of peach and melon are framed by vanilla and buttery pastry notes in this white, which shows fine balance. A floral hint emerges as this winds down on the lingering finish. Drink now.
While this wine is young, it already shows ripeness, with attractive perfumed acidity underlining the crisp apple fruitiness. Lively and full of fruit, it is ready to drink from late 2021.
There are some 450,000 bottles of Bouchard's 2019 Bourgogne Chardonnay Reserve, a cuvée that was bottled before the 2020 harvest, and it's showing nicely, delivering generous aromas of pear, peach, white flowers and orange oil, followed by a medium-bodied, round and open palate that's fleshy and lively.
The 2019 Bourgogne Chardonnay Réserve, which was racked in July/August, has a light orange-zest-scented nose. The palate is light on the entry, showing touches of bitter lemon, and the finish is slightly abrupt.
