Turley Vineyard 101 Zinfandel 2017
|Region||California, Sonoma County, Alexander Valley|
Located in Sonoma, this certified organic vineyard was planted in the 1920s. At only 2 ½ acres, it is the smallest site we make into a vineyard designate, which is a shame, since the wines are consistently a staff favorite. The wines are aromatic and light, with lots of fruit and great acidity.
Refined and focused, with a beam of lively tannins and acidity framed by raspberry and cherry flavors, with dried tarragon and pepper notes. Drink now through 2027. 137 cases made.
From a small 2.5-acre vineyard planted in the 1920s, the 2017 Zinfandel Vineyard 101 has a medium to deep ruby-purple color and nose of cinnamon toast, black cherry liqueur, black licorice and turned earth hints over a core of warm black fruits. Medium to full-bodied, it offers very pretty spiced black and blue fruits in the mouth with floral hints coming through, framed by fine, grainy tannins and fantastic freshness, finishing long and spicy. 140 cases were made.
