Domaine Frantz Chagnoleau Saint Veran Prelude 2020

Frantz Chagnoleau's blend is a cuvée of four different parcels, spread over 2.5ha, and with an average age of 45 years. It's a perfumed, sappy style with orange zest and citrus top-notes. There's a hint of nectarine and honey and stylish wood handling that's a feature of his winemaking. Drinking Window 2019 - 2023

Aromas of confit citrus, white flowers, beeswax, pastry cream and green apple introduce the 2017 Saint-Véran Prélude, a medium to full-bodied, satiny wine with a racy spine of acidity, chalky dry extract and a mineral finish. Produced from vines in Prissé and Chasselas, it's a fine-boned rendition of the appellation despite the warm, concentrated tendencies of the vintage.
