Small family farm, with 4 generations know-how, the Cacheux vineyard is located in the heart of the Vosne-Romanée village in Cote d’Or, Burgundy. At the beginning of the last century, Francois Blée settled in Vosne-Romanée. His son, Charles Blée, succeeds him and increase the surface area of the field. In 1966, the holding is divided between his two daughters. Jacqueline Blée, one of her daughters and her husband René Cacheux create the Cacheux-Blée vineyard.

In 2004, after working on other wine farms, Gerald Cacheux, their son, is their successor and now manage the René Cacheux & Son vineyard.

They have a total 3ha (7.4 acres):

– 2.5 acres in Vosne-Romanée1er Cru between Les Suchots and Les Beaux-Monts,

– 2.5 acres in Vosne-Romanée Village,

– 1.2 acre in Chambolle-Musigny

– 1.2 acre in Bourgogne Rouge & Bourgogne Aligoté.

The farming of René Cacheux & Fils vineyard in Vosne-Romanée in Burgundy, produces great wines of Burgundy red and white, with the main grape variety Pinot Noir for red wines. The wines are made from hand picking and sorting carried out with great care to maintain the quality of the grapes.

We harvest our grapes Pinot Noir at their optimum quality in order to produce high-quality wines and terroir. To preserve the unique and ancestral terroir, we practice integrated vineyard management methods. Each appellation has its own expressive character, the sign of gentle winemaking. Every wine, from Domaine Cacheux, has great delineation, terroir and richness; they never lose the precision of flavors that could only be found in great wines.

The 2019 Vosne-Romanee Village has a clean, fresh nose with black cherry and light bilberry scents, touches of shoe polish in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins. Robust and heady in style, it just loses a bit of focus on the finish.
