The "Nouveau" young wines of the Beaujolais is fantastically fresh and uncomplicated red wine enjoyment. The regionally typical process of carbonic acid maceration brings very fruity aromas into the wines, which can be reminiscent of bananas and fruit drops. At the same time, the wines are very low in tannins, making them the perfect choice for a fun, uncomplicated glass.

At the Domaine des Nugues Beaujolais Villages Nouveau, only grapes from the 38 northern local appellations of the Beaujolais are used. In these locations, the wine gets a little more depth and variety of aromas. The fully ripe and hand-picked grapes come from plots that are processed according to the principle of sustainable cultivation.

In the medium ruby red glass, this Beaujolais Villages Nouveau has a fragrant bouquet of strawberry confit, juicy blueberries, red cherries and currants with overtones of violets and stone fruit. Incredibly juicy and lean on the palate, with juicy fruit of blueberries, red cherries, strawberries and vineyard peaches as well as floral accents. Balanced, uncomplicated drinking pleasure with at the same time more seriousness than with simpler representatives of its guild. Enjoyed in a timely manner, this wine offers the greatest pleasure.

Domain des Nugues

The Gelin family has owned the Domaine des Nugues since 1976 and has been involved in viticulture for generations. Since 2010, Gilles Gelin and his wife have been responsible for the fortunes of the winery in northern Beaujolais. The family has earned an excellent reputation and is now a reference for Beaujolais wines with body and structure, which have a lot of aging potential. The clear terroir expression and regionally typical, traditional production methods show the deep understanding and connection to the region. In addition to Beaujolais Villages, the winegrowing family also owns around eight hectares in the Cru sites Fleurie, Moulin à Vent and Morgon, all of which are managed in compliance with the high environmental standards of the HEV certification. Mainly Gamay and Chardonnay are planted, all of which are harvested by hand. The winemaker's philosophy is to bring out the elegance and structure of the Gamay grape in his Beaujolais wines.
