Château-Pipeau Saint Emilion 2016
|France, Bordeaux, St. Emilion
The 2016 Pipeau has a very pure and well defined bouquet with red cherries and touches of blueberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, well judged acidity, a little oaky at the moment but with such a smooth texture, you will not be able to resist. This is a well-crafted, delicious follow-up to the excellent 2015.
88-90. Barrel Sample. Rounded and full of black fruits, this is already a gentle wine, with subtle tannins that lend just enough edge and structure to the bold fruit. It is a wine for medium-term aging, and will probably be ready to enjoy from 2022.
Direct, with warm mocha, melted licorice and plum puree notes gliding through together. A frank mocha accent drapes over the finish. Drink now through 2021.
