All Merlot, the 2010 Girolamo seems to have absorbed all the extra sunshine of the vintage. The bouquet is redolent of ripe strawberry, blackberry preserves and sweet baking spice that feel a little heavy-footed and one-dimensional. Girolamo is one of the best expressions of the grape from central Italy. Although this wine is finely crafted, I can't say this is my favorite vintage.

This Tuscan Merlot has a fragrance of ripe plum, berry and cocoa. The palate delivers black currant layered with chocolate and finishes on a drying note of wood. It doesn't have much complexity but it has very attractive fruit.
